Elsie Haddon Haynes was born on the Isle of Wight and died in Denver, Colorado. She studied in London, Brussels, and Paris. She was a member of the Artists Guild of Colorado, and exhibited at the Denver Artists Club and the Denver Museum of Natural History. She is primarily known for her pastels. This is a beautiful example of the Colorado Mountain Landscapes painted by Haynes and demonstrates her unique ability to capture the light and atmosphere in Colorado. The painting measures 12 3/4 x 10 3/4 inches and is in fine condition.
